We have partnered with the Wayfinding Bible, and in 8 weeks we are going to read through the Bible. I know that sounds daunting, but we are going to do this by taking the Wayfinding Bible’s fly-over route, where we will explore the major concepts of the Bible in only about 50 readings. There are two other routes you can follow that will take you deeper should you choose to after we finish.

The idea behind this is for all of us to go deeper in our faith by finding out who God is by spending time in his word. I am excited about this because I have not read through the Bible and I really anticipate this changing the way I live out my faith on a daily basis.

To remove any excuses not to get involved, we have made the World’s Biggest Small Group free and easy. Plus, the more involved you are, the more points you will earn for a chance to see the things you have read in the Wayfinding Bible in real life with a Grand Prize trip to the Holy Land.

So join the World’s Biggest Small Group today.

I home school my kids ages 17, 15, and 7. I do stuff with the little guy but I haven't done anything with my teenagers lately, so this is gonna be great. I like the idea that we can go over stuff we've probably done when they were younger, but this time around they'll have a new perspective and we'll cover the major stuff. We're doing mapping the world this year too, so the maps in the study are gonna fit right in with that.

How I Got Mine to Work on iPhone & iPad Posted by Brian on September 30, 2013 @ 12:15 PM

I had some trouble to start, but I managed to get it working on my iPhone & iPad. Here's how it worked for me:

1) Go to the group.wayfm.com site using your iPhone or iPad. Make sure to use the Safari browser as Chrome was having an issue.
2) Go to where you download the files, and make sure to click on the "ePub" one.
3) After you click it, wait a few minutes. It didn't tell me it was downloading, but it was.
4) Once it's downloaded, it'll automatically open up a page that asks where you'd like to open the book. Make sure to choose "Open in 'iBooks'" (download iBooks for free from Apple if you don't yet have it).
5) That's it! I can't wait to get started!

Loving the World's Biggest Small Group! Fun, inspiring and doable! Brilliant!
However, the constantrepetitivecalypsobackgroundmusic is so distracting, it makes it difficult to focus on what y'all are saying because we are focusing on trying to tune it out. I thought it was just me, but now I've had 3 other people say something about it. Just wanted you to know, we just want to hear those great vocal pipes of the on-air talent. Don't know how it sounds in your headphones, but not working for some of us out here. God Bless You. We love and appreciate your ministry (just not loving that incessant calypso thing!).

anyone else have this problem, if so how did you correct the problem.

Reading Posted by Beverly on October 01, 2013 @ 08:34 PM

I hope this is the correct method for asking questions regarding the reading. In my small group as we study we pose questions to each other. If no one has what is determined to be an answer to cast out doubt we research, study, interview, seek counsel from the elders, etc. I was unable to successfully download the bible so will have to wait for pay day to make a hard copy purchase. Meanwhile I wanted to get started so decided to compare, yeah I know that is not always the best, KJV, Thompson Chain Ref, & The Living Bible. Thought I would get a pretty good study.
Well I realized that I seem to have confused the Tree of Knowledge and the Tree of Life. Get this, Gen 2:17 notes "But the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." I have always believed this passage in context referred to our eyes being opened to good and evil and because of our choices made from this knowledge would be our death. Then Gen3:24 notes "and the Lord God said, Behold. the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever." Adam and Eve were not warned not to eat of the tree of life (eternal Life) they were warned not to eat of the tree of knowledge.

Did you get that? There are 2 trees. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The opening of our eyes to discern, rightly or wrongly, the path we will choose for ourselves. Then there is the tree of life. Because we eat of the tree of Knowledge of good and evil we forfeit our eating from the tree of life. Then get this ...the man is become as one of us... who is us. Since God was alone until Adam is He referring to the Angels of Heaven?

Reading Gen 3:23 then seems to be a safeguard. Because the tree of knowledge gave man the ability to discern good and evil, God could not then allow man to live forever by also eating from the tree of life so man was banished from the garden.

Can someone tell me if I am looking at this correctly? The two trees is not a brain buster just an OHHHHH. What I am finding to be new information is that while banishment from the garden was punishment on one hand it was protection on the other. This world has good days and bad days. Now imagine those bad days forever.

What a great idea! I have gone through the Bible several times but I'm always up for a new challenge. My goal has always been to go to Israel so I'm hoping that my name comes up! Our church is scheduled to go to Israel on our 25th anniversary but finances will not allow that to happen so maybe we will win a trip there :-)

Hi Wally,
I have been struggling with a call to ministry for over 10 years. I have been trying to have a quiet time for many years, and I get a great start and fizzle out in about a week. I got a late start on this one, but I LOVE your World's Largest Small group! There are so many stories I remember hearing as a child, but they are coming alive to me in new ways. I look forward to reading the next story each day, and appreciate the special guests you have sharing their thoughts. Thank you so much for this opportunity!

The stories have allowed me to see that God called each one of these people we have read about, and each one struggled with their call in some way, and that really has helped me.
